Happy Friday!

Today was definitely an eventful day to say the least! We had the pleasure of meeting the many visitors who dropped by our store. Nothing tops off your day like a little girl poking her head in and exclaiming "I love your store!" :)

One highlight today was finishing a mock-up for a bride-to-be stopping by tomorrow. We're excited to show her how we have captured her vision.

Another fun project was putting together a special arrangement for one of the sweetest ladies I have ever spoken to. This piece was fun to do and I love how all the colors complement one another.

Well, that just about sums up the exciting parts of our day. And by exciting I mean events that I can actually get photographic evidence of ... because I'm sure we can all agree that posts are better with pictures! And of course everyone here at SGD hopes you have a great start to your weekend as well as the lovely month of June! We know.. we can't believe it's already June either. Until next time!

We're back!

Hello Everyone! After being locked out of our own blog for four months due to some website maintenance update shenanigans, we are so happy to be back. And what better way to start off our reunification than with one of our custom floral orders that went out today...

So we stepped into our store this morning and noticed that some of our roses became HUGE!

Immediately, we knew we wanted to use them for our client who requested monthly floral arrangements to feature a specific flower. In the previous months, we chose to favor sunflowers and ranunculus; however, today we knew we wanted to highlight our gorgeous roses.

And may we remark that these roses smelled amazing. We kept getting distracted from work just to catch a whiff every five minutes. Other than that, many new things are happening here at SGD so definitely stay tuned! Until next time :)

Highlight Reel from Casa del Mar Wedding

Here is some amazing footage from a beautiful wedding we designed and produced at Casa del Mar. I was honored to be part of the wedding of Alison Wait and Robert Wallendorf-they were truly one of the nicest couples to work with and producing their event was not only beautiful but incredible fun and joyful!

I tell my clients all the time that those weddings that are the most successful are those where the couple stays focused on the love they have for each other and trusts the team at SGD to produce something amazing. In this case, not only did the couple love and support each other completely throughout the process, but they let the whole team at SGD create something beautiful for them, and trusted us implicitly. Thank you Alison and Robert for sharing your day with us! It was amazing.

This footage comes from Isabel Cinema (http://isabelcinema.com/)...a super videographer and an amazing person to work this.

Here is the highlight reel:

Baby Shower in the Works

We just did the cutest baby shower for one of the sweetest clients I have ever met. She didn't want it to be too "baby"... just simple and chic with a hint of bebe. Check out the evolution of one of the buffet pieces.

 Stage 1:
Vintage Used Rocking Horse Chair...Hmmm...not loving the colors

Stage 2:
A good paint job and hair job

Stage 3:

The Start of Spring?

Here in Los Angeles, it is about 80 degrees and perfectly beautiful outside. Since getting back from Colorado, one must wonder, is Spring already here? If it is, J.Crew's Leather Ballet Flats http://www.jcrew.com/womens_feature/NewArrivals/shoes/PRDOVR~36243/36243.jsp
in oh so many beautiful colors are the perfect way to start it off!
Please Mr. Groundhog....let it be Spring!

The Golden Bear of Vail

The Golden Bear of Vail is a main staple of visiting this amazing ski destination. The little gold bear is the quintessential Vail purchase...its simplicity is perfect and is the little pop you need to your ski outfit! Whenever I get up to the mountains, I put little baby gold bear on and it makes me feel all cozy and snuggly...just what the Winter commands of us.

I recently popped in the store in Vail to check out their new stuff. Their turquoise pieces are stunning (see below). More amazing is that they have ventured into the world of home goods. From decanters to desk accessories, their items are the perfect accent for a mountain home.

How cute are these desk accessories!

If you are in Vail, do check it out. If you aren't here, definitely visit them online at http://thegoldenbear.com/
